Capitalism Rocks!

Obama no hand

During lunch today, I was complaining that I wanted to write a blog, but I didn’t want to write on the inevitable socialized medicine debacle that our socialist President and liberal congress is going to force down our throats.  The 5-6 paragraphs here are incapable of dealing with such a complex issue.

My good friend Glenn told us about his recent trip to Europe.  He talked about high taxes, high fuel and food costs, little cars, and bad medicine.  So I started ranting about why this Country is great.  There are reasons we have the best doctors, low prices for food and gas.  We drive big and distinctive cars.  We don’t believe the government can save us from all the bad things in the world, and we help everyone else.  We work hard!

Our capitalist system rewards hard work.  We don’t have 60%+ taxes, because people work to support themselves and at the heart of the Country, we know that hard work will eventually pay off.

Competition breeds low prices, availability of goods and services, and high quality.  If you have the best product at the best price, you will be successful.  Now we have the socialists pushing for universal healthcare.  A government that is on the way to bankrupting Social Security, made thousands of bad loans through Fannie May and Freddie Mac, watched the banking industry go bust, gave out $1 Billion of our tax money so government owned car companies could sell cars and bankrupted that program in a week, is incapable of running anything as complex as healthcare.  Leave business to the business owners.  Government bureaucrats have no idea how to run businesses.  Obama is leading us down a path to destruction.

We are supposed to be the beacon of light, a place where the saying “Live the American Dream” means working hard and having that hard work rewarded.  It doesn’t mean waiting around for the government to throw table scraps at us and simply survive while paying exorbitant taxes to a central government that will solve all our problems.  That model doesn’t work.

You would think we would remember that we won the cold war and communism and socialism are bad things.  Unfortunately, most of the Obama supporters don’t remember the history of socialist regimes.  I’ll fill you in on the end-game of socialist and communist governments, they fail.

Incredible! If was stunned when we gave cash for clunkers. What the heck is that! My girlfriend leases her car so she doesn’t qualify. I have a relatively new truck so I don’t qualify. My daughter has a used Honda so she doesn’t qualify. Terrific. I know. I’ll stop paying my mortgage, maybe now I’ll qualify for the $4500 towards a car made by a company that the government now owns.

Or better yet, I’ll marry a cow. With the new Regulatory Czar the cow will soon have healthcare, foreclosure protection, and $4500 towards a new car.

I wonder what country you are living in. Your entire post is based on pure fiction. Capitalsim rewards hard work? No. Capitalism rewards greed, monopolization and opportunism. One only needs to look at the Wall Street collapse and the fierce fight being waged by insurance companies against healthcare. It’s amazing how you ignore the problems created by idiotic policies based on your frankly erroneous view. We are in this mess in the first place because of ignorant thoughts such as that exhibited in your blog post. Some people NEVER learn.

Sistagirl, just because you say the post is fiction doesn’t make it so. Try to keep up here…the “greed and oportunism” you speak of did not cause the collapse of Wall Street. The collapse was born many years ago during the Clinton administration and his failed policy carried out by Fannie May and Freddie Mac. Everyone deserves a house weather they could afford it or not. Those questionable mortgages were bundled together as investment grade securities and floated to investment firms. Just like all mortgages, they were used to leverage other investments in the equities markets. When the people who should not have qualified for mortgages started to default, the leveraged equities were then at risk. SO you actually have no idea what you are talking about, but you are correct, some people never learn, hopefully I’ve helped you.

I hope that you noticed that the democrats pushed by their progressive base won overwhelmingly the presidential election, …and they did it with a black presidential candidate!
This to my mind signifies an important leap forward by the american people. Changes from the past on many fronts are taking place. Changes that are driving crazy the stuck in the past right wing ideologues. They see their world collapsing around them and they are going crazy and acting crazy. They are becoming a very big joke in the eyes of our current generation.
Don’t take the ‘reactionary right wingers’ loud screaming as a sign as being strong. It is a sign of being desperate.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. A system that is thoroughly corrupt is cracking and the people within that corrupt system is beginning to crack it’s foundation, because it is the only thing left to do.

Overwheming is way overstated. It was more an election based on the hatred of President Bush than an endorsement of the socialist.

    A leap forward? That’s comical.
