Impressive South Florida Candidates

January 24, 2010

On Saturday, South Florida Conservatives hosted an impressive group of candidates for national office at a Freedom Forum I.  There were four candidates for the House of Representatives, Robert Lowery, Corey Poitier, Edward Lynch, and Bernard Sansaricq, and Marco Rubio, a candidate for the United States Senate.

And then there was a disappointing crowd.  I would guess there were about 200 people there.  I don’t believe that people didn’t really know about the function.  I told about 80 or so people, and it was on the blog several times and was read by hundreds of people in South Florida, and that was just me.  So where was everyone?  Does the win by Scott Brown in Massachusetts mean we can take a break?  That win means we have an opportunity, it is not a foregone conclusion that Republicans will sweep elections in November.  We must work for the wins.  We cannot assume that this will happen on its own.  I encourage each of you to donate money , time, or both to these candidates.  Only with our support can they bring some semblance of rationality back to this Country.

Luckily for us in South Florida, there are an excellent group of conservatives that need and deserve your support.  Last night I had the opportunity to hear them speak, and then talk to them as they answered questions and just talked to the crowd.  I talked to my son about having the opportunity to speak personally with men that would be making the tough decisions about the direction of this Country in the future.  It was an incredible experience.

Now on to the candidates…I voted for Charlie Crist for Governor.  However, after hearing Speaker Rubio and looking at his platform and what he believes in, I will be supporting him.  I have a problem with Governor Crist’s support of Obama’s stimulus bill.  I believe the only conservative in the running for Senate from Florida is Speaker Rubio and he is the only one that I believe will stand up for conservative principles in Washington DC.  To donate money or time to this campaign, go to http://marcorubio.com.

Mr. Robert Lowry is running against that idiot Debbie Wasserman-Shultz.  That should be enough for you to break out your checkbook and give him whatever he wants.  Regardless of his opponent, Mr. Lowry is an engaging intelligent man.  I spoke to him for several minutes.  He seems genuinely concerned for people and spent last week in Haiti helping with the relief effort.  To donate money or time to this campaign, go to http://lowryforcongress.com.

Mr. Corey Poitier is a high school government and economics teacher in North Miami.  He is running for the seat for some unknown reason vacated by Kendrick Meek.  Mr. Poitier spoke about inspiring students and improving education, and being fiscally responsible.  He is in a very crowded field and in need of our help.  To donate money or time to this campaign, go to http://poitierforcongress.com.

Mr. Edward Lynch also spent the last week in Haiti.  It is so inspiring to see leaders go out of their way to help in times of crisis.  He talked about one of my favorite topics:  Energy Independence.  He spoke about the large amounts of money we send to people who don’t even like us, and the fact that we have plenty of oil here, we just need to access it.  This would also create thousands of jobs.  To donate money or time to this campaign, go to http://electlynch.com.

Last, but certainly not least is Mr. Bernard Sansaricq.  This is a man that makes you want to stand up and shout “God Bless America” when he describes why he is running for Congress.  Mr. Sansaricq is a former President of the Senate in Haiti.  He spent his teen years in America, and after Aristide was placed in power by Clinton, he came back to America and became a citizen.  He is an inspiring speaker that is running against that crook and impeached Federal Judge Alcee Hastings.  How Hastings continues to get elected is mystifying.  Please support Mr. Sansaricq in his race.  To donate money or time to this campaign, go to http://sansaricq4congress.org.

Okay, there is my report on Freedom Forum I.  Please join me for the next one and support conservative candidates.  Together we can affect the direction of this Country.  I got this today from a good friend.  It is definately worth your time to watch!

A Present For Our 1 Year Anniversary

January 19, 2010

I thought it was appropriate that on the one year anniversary of our national catastrophe, we pause to reflect on the direction of this Country.  I started to write this blog just 4 months after the inauguration of our socialist President.  It didn’t take a clairvoyant to see that the liberal policies of this administration would drive us to the brink of bankruptcy, socialism, and a total break-away from the principles that made this Country great.

As we as a Country were looking into the abyss, one small beacon of light appeared in the Northeast.  It wasn’t Scott Brown, he just happened to be the name on the ballot.  The true patriots were the people of Massachusetts.  Descendents of the people that suffered through the Boston Massacre and stormed British ships to have a giant Tea Party and said NO to taxation without representation, overlooked partisan politics and sent a message to the liberal elites in Washington that even though Democrats outnumber Republicans in the State by a 3 to 1 margin, a Republican was elected as a Senator.

This is an important day.  We should look back and resolve that we will not let the media force feed us a candidate by censoring information for their own liberal agendas.  It makes me feel all warm inside that we can count on the American people to see through the spin, half-truths, and outlandish campaign rhetoric.  The people of Massachusetts reminded the elected officials that they work for us.  This should make Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the Democrat party shake in their boots.

I never thought I would ever have these words come out of the end of my fingers…thanks to the people of Massachusetts for slowing down the march toward socialism.  Thanks for standing up and saying no to big government, high taxes, and government takeovers.  God Bless You.

It’s The People’s Seat

January 17, 2010

In this current era of a grumpy electorate, of which I am a proud member, it is the little hints of elitism that go mostly unnoticed that burn me up.  The most recent example from the Democrat Party is the sense of entitlement to a Senate seat in Massachusetts.  I have seen many articles this week denouncing the fact that, God forbid, a Republican may win Ted Kennedy’s Seat!  You remember Teddy, right?  If you are to believe the Democrats and the disbelieving media, that “pillar of virtue’s” seat has no business being occupied by a Republican.

Here are a few statistics for your information.  I know you will never hear them from the media, because remember, that seat belongs to the Kennedys.  The State of Massachusetts has had 46 Senators in their history.  Guess which party has had the most?  Republicans at 16.  There have been 15 Federalists, 9 Whigs, and bringing up the rear, Democrats with 6.  I know what you are saying…Teddy was there for more than 40 years, that has to be worth something.  Not to confuse my liberal friends with facts, let’s look at years in office.  If you add up all the years of both seats in the Senate, there have been 377 years of service from Senators in MA.  Guess who has the most, yep, Republicans, 192 years, or 51% of the time.  Next in line are those Democrats with 32%.  Federalists had 10% and Whigs had 8%.  It doesn’t really seem like Teddy’s or even a Democrat’s seat to me.

The Republican that dares to infiltrate the sacred seat is Scott Brown.  As far as the Democrats and an incredulous group of liberal media are concerned, no Republican is worthy of being a Senator from MA.  It mystifies them that Lt. Colonel and State Senator Brown is actually ahead by 3 points in the most recent polls.

To his credit, Mr. Brown reminded the members of the media and the Democrat party that the vacant Senate seat actually belongs to the people of MA, not the Kennedy mob.  The liberal media doesn’t seem to understand that the American people are upset.  Even the traditionally liberal voters of MA can see that the socialist policies of this current administration will lead us to destruction, or at least bankruptcy.

If Mr. Brown does win Tuesday, there may be a chance to stop the government takeover of the healthcare system.  If you live in MA, make sure you vote Tuesday.  If you can support the campaign with a donation, I urge you to help.  Here’s a link to Mr. Brown’s web site:  http://www.brownforussenate.com

Lets show the media, liberal Congress members, and our socialist President what is in store for them come November.

It’s Time To Get Serious

January 3, 2010

Happy New Year everyone!  May God bless you and your families this year.

I am glad 2009 is over.  It was just a terrible year for our Country.  Many people lost jobs, a great number of houses were foreclosed, and several terrorist attacks killed hard working people that were completely innocent.  Many members of the armed forces also lost their lives defending us in far away lands.

I thank God every day that we have citizens who raise their hands and volunteer to put themselves in harm’s way.  The all volunteer armed forces continue to amaze me with their dedication to freedom and selfless acts to promote democracy throughout the world.

The year 2009 will also be forever imprinted on my mind because we inaugurated a socialist president knowing full well he was incapable of governing.  This administration has been a total failure.  Unemployment skyrocketed, terrorists have been given rights in unprecedented situations, conservatives have been labeled as right wing extremists, and the list continues to grow.  Did you see that Interpol now does not have to be subject to any American law enforcement oversight?

Well, it’s 2010.  You have it in your power to stop this march toward socialism.  You have the say in which direction this Country goes.  The vote on every member of the House of Representatives and one third of the Senate is only 11 months away.  It is up to each one of us that believe the government is not the answer to all our problems to get out and vote, and support candidates that believe in less government and lower taxes.  If you have the financial resources, give money to help like minded candidates.  If you have time, work on a political campaign.

The holidays are over.  It’s time to get to work to change the path of America.  Here is an opportunity for those of you in South Florida.  The South Florida Conservatives are hosting a candidate forum at the Doubletree Miami Mart on January 23, 2010, at 5:00 p.m.  Marco Rubio, LTC Allen West, and other Congressional candidates will be there to answer questions.  Please join me there, and for further information, go to http://www.sflaconservative.com/upcoming-events/freedom-forum-1/

Now get out there and get to work!!!!
