Obama Skips Arlington

May 29, 2010

I wake up every day hoping to hear news that Obama was removed from office.  To even speak the name “Obama” turns my stomach.  Will the ways that he can show his contempt for the ideals our Country was founded upon ever end?  His presidency, his administration, and his friends are an embarrassment to the long and storied history our Country enjoys.

The United States of America has made mistakes during our history.  I believe our top redeeming quality is that eventually, we try to right our wrongs.  Changing minds, laws, and culture is a slow process.  We are certainly far from perfect, but risking a comparative argument, we are the best Country in the world.  I don’t see the exodus of our citizens and illegal guests to other countries.  That being said, what were people thinking when 65 million of them voted for this liberal extremist?

Back to the issue at hand…since 1968, the President of the United States has placed a wreath at the grave at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery the vast majority of the years.  Sometimes foreign commitments have kept the Presidents from going to Arlington.  This year, a President that is surrounded by liberal extremists has decided it is more important to go on vacation to Chicago than to be at Arlington on Memorial Day.  What a weak excuse for missing an important American tradition.  Obama will scurry back to Washington to honor that great American hero Paul McCartney.  That will be, I’m sure, an important national event that the President is obligated to preside over, unlike the silliness of putting a wreath at a tomb.

Obama is a disgrace as a President.  He does not protect this Country, he appeases our enemies, bows to everybody, and apologizes for everything.  How bad is he? He is so bad that his presidency makes me long for the good old days of Jimmy Carter.

1 Year and Counting!

May 22, 2010

On May 22, 2009, I published my first blog.  It only took four months of living under the rule of our current President to motivate me to become more active in politics.  This has been an interesting year.  It has also been an education.  (I never thought I would participate in a demonstration.)

I started writing a blog because I hate the direction our Country is going.  The liberal agenda is contrary to the vast majority of principles this Country was founded upon, and contrary to the majority opinion.  In writing the articles, I have had to think about what I believe, and competently defend conservative stances.  The background research done on each entry has assisted me in clarifying the issues in my own thought process.  It has made me a better debater and has also focused my arguments to be more persuasive.

One thing that has surprised me is how hostile and divided the opposite ends of the political spectrum are.  I have been called every name in the book.  I usually do not allow those filthy comments to be posted.  I also realize that I frequently am sarcastic, demeaning, and hostile toward those idiot liberals (oops, sorry) that believe they have some special knowledge or insight on how my life should be lived.  My friends know that I always seem to write more passionately when Obama does something that really irritates me, like calling me a right-wing extremist.  I have to say that I do enjoy writing angry and I try to illicit emotional responses from others, both for and against me.

Thank you for reading my blog this year.  Thousands of people have visited the site and hundreds have left comments.  This is my 40th post.  There have been times when there is so much to write about it is a little overwhelming, and then there have been weeks where I haven’t felt the motivation to write.  I would also like to thank the guys from work for the spirited discussions that have been the impetus for many of the posts.

I hope to keep writing for many years to come.  Unfortunately with Obama and his hoard of extremists, I should have an almost infinite amount of material to keep me busy.

18 1/2 Missing Minutes

May 13, 2010

Previously I have written about the dismal performance of our free and independent press in performing their duties as the watchdog for our republic.  I have bitterly complained that the liberal bias shown by the mainstream media gave us a socialist president with their blind dogmatic regurgitation of the leftist talking points.  Now the hand that fed them, slaps them on the nose while yelling “bad dog.”

The newest extremist put forward by the socialist administration is Elena Kagan, Supreme Court nominee.  I have several problems with Ms. Kagan, and it seems members of the media do also.  The first interview was done with a Whitehouse staffer asking the questions!  I feel pretty confident that most media outlets would not ask difficult questions of the nominee, but having your own staff play the part of reporter is outrageous.

The video has been edited and cut together.  It is easy to see that the administration is only showing us what they want us to see.  I, being the helpful guy I am, decided I would try to recreate the parts of the “interview” that were deleted.  Here, to the best of my knowledge, are the parts of the “interview” that are on the cutting room floor:

Administration Junior Staffer Lackey Interviewer:  What is your opinion of military service and the role of the military?

Radical Supreme Court Nominee:  As my good friend Senator John Kerry pointed out, we all know military personnel are baby killers and do nothing but help to oppress people throughout the world.  That is why I banned them from recruiting on the campus of Harvard when I was the Dean.

Whitehouse Little More Senior Editor:  That is a great point Ms. Kagan, but unfortunately that warmonger Bush got us involved in an illegal war that we are stuck in.  We have to try to convince people we like the military or they won’t feel safe.  We will have to skip this answer.

Administration Junior Staffer Lackey Interviewer:  Ms. Kagan, what aspects of the First Amendment do you think we should repeal first?

Radical Supreme Court Nominee:  As I have argued before, the motive of the government is the most important factor when restricting free speech.  Government can restrict speech if the speech may cause harm.  Harm is defined as incitement to violence, hate-speech, threatening or “fighting” words.

Whitehouse Little More Senior Editor:  When you’re right, you’re right.  We have to stop people from saying naughty things, especially if they are talking about us.  Let’s do this, we will cut this answer out and after you are confirmed, you can side with the savior’s new leftist solicitor general in getting rid of this silly amendment.

I’m sure there was more, but you get the idea.  We are getting another radical that no one knows anything about and the media will give a pass to because they are not doing their jobs.  We need a free and independent press to protect our freedoms.  We are not getting that.  I would ask each of you to pray for the health of Roberts, Alito, Scalia, Thomas, and Kennedy.  If we lose one of them, we are in big trouble.
